Wednesday Evenings 20:30-21:30

Please note there is no class on Wendesday 11th March

Lindy Hop is often known as the ‘Grandfather of Swing’ and is a vibrant, joyful and fun partner dance. Originating in the early 1900s in the ballrooms of Harlem, Lindy Hop was influenced by dances such as the Charleston.

In the first section of the class focus will be on teaching, practicing and improving the basic Lindy footwork. The second section of the class will start to take things up a notch and expand on this learning into movement phrases and sequences.

During the term you will also learn a brief history of the dance style, posture and co-ordination and simple (but impressive!) routines. You will build skills and confidence to dance in a group, on your own and with a partner to a range of uplifting jazz band music. No partner needed!
