Roxy Bryant

Roxy Bryant has been working as a freelance dance teacher, choreographer and facilitator, primarily within education and community based settings for the past 10 years. Her training began predominantly in Hip Hop, but she soon discovered Contemporary Dance. She attended the CAT programme at The Place for two years, before going on to graduate from Trinity Laban with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance in 2010. Since then she has worked with South East Dance, Hampshire Dance, CAT, B&H Music & Arts, The Royal Academy of Dance and Trinity Laban.

Roxy’s work still shifts between both Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance, but her signature style is an unconscious synthesis of the two. The driving force behind her work however, is to use dance as a creative tool for developing freedom of expression and waking her students up to their full potential.

Roxy is also the Artistic Director and Choreographer of Awake Dance Company, which was set up in early 2016. To fulfil her mission of creating professional work, on a range of social, political and spiritual topics, that provoke thought and trigger emotions, in a bid to inspire her audience, wake them up to their full potential and hopefully contribute to positive social change.
