Relaxing and remarkably effective, Pilates promotes postural awareness and spinal health whilst building a strong, lean and flexible body.
Focusing the mind and body, the exercises integrate breathing techniques, alignment and control to provide an interesting and safe class that everyone can enjoy.
Avoiding lots of boring repetitions the Pilates technique encourages fluidity and precision to correct and assist with faulty movement patterns and most muscular skeletal issues.
All exercises can be modified to suit individuals of all abilities. Pilates is also a challenge for strength, balance and agility using the resistance of one’s own body and just a simple mat!
This course offers two progressive levels:
Beginners: 18.30 - 19.45
Improvers: 20.00 - 21.15

- Mats are provided, or you can bring your own
- Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in

After a successful career as a dancer in musical theatre for many years, Jo trained as a Pilates teacher at the Pilates and Yoga Movement Centre for Excellence in Kilburn.
Jo trained for two years with Anne-Marie Zulkahari and Hana Jones who are founder members of the Pilates Foundation.
She now works in conjunction with several Physiotherapists and Massage therapists in London, providing safe and effective exercise programmes for people of all ages and abililities recovering from injury, surgery or illness.
Jo also teaches at Circus Space in Hoxton advising performers on injury prevention.
Jo has 8 years experience in teaching Pilates Mat work and her enthusiastic approach to this mind and body focused material will give a safe but fun class for all participants of all levels of fitness and abilities.
