Professional Class: Sophie Arstall
Class will run as normal on Monday 5 - Tuesday 6 March. There will be no Professional Class on Weds 7 - Fri 9 March due to ongoing emergency remedial works in The Borough Hall.
Drawing from improvisational and somatic approaches, this class builds towards a framework of known and unknown material where we will work equally on the technical and compositional elements of our dancing. We will focus on breaking things down, stripping back in order to find clarity, and paying attention to the detailed and subtle - to enrich and feed our fullest dancing.
We will look particularly at the dialogue between tension and release and achieving connectivity and integrity in the body whilst addressing performativity and presence, challenging no one state of being and dancing, and encouraging a sense of play and aliveness.
- Spaces are limited - please arrive early to secure your place.
- We strongly advise that you arrive at least 15 minutes before class to ensure a thorough warm-up.
- For safety reasons, we cannot admit participants after 10.40am, or when the class reaches maximum capacity.
