Professional Class: Tim Casson

Tim's class is an energetic and challenging mixture of physical work, theatricality, and fun. Classes start from spatial games and improvisation before developing into more structured exercises to develop coordination, connections through the body, the mechanics of floorwork and finding the fundamental joy of moving through the space!

Class tutor

Tim Casson

Originally from North Yorkshire, Tim trained at The BRIT School and Bird College before completing an MA in Contemporary Dance at London Contemporary Dance School. He has performed and taught extensively for Jasmin Vardimon Company, creating their JV2 postgraduate programme, and has also performed for Nigel Charnock, Katie Green and Ben Wright. Tim has also featured in various music videos, commercials and the movie 'World War Z'.

Described as “The friendliest man in dance” by Donald Hutera, Tim regularly leads educational projects for a wide range of dance organisations, such as Yorkshire Dance and Sadler’s Wells, where he was recently Course Leader for the National Youth Dance Company.

Tim has been an Associate Artist at Pavilion Dance South West, created the World Record Breaking online performance project, ‘The Dance WE Made’ and directs his company ‘Casson & Friends’, creating work with a focus on collaboration, interaction and joy.
