Tango

Experience the passion and drama of Argentine Tango.

The class will run from 19.35-20.50 at a beginner's level for all. This part of the class concentrates on technique and the basic elements of the dance style - steps, figures, embrace and walk. It will also teach you how to combine these elements to create Tango using communication, improvisation, rhythm and interpretation of music.

More experienced students can stay for the intermediate level at 20.50-21.35, using the beginner's half of the class as a warm up. This section focuses on a deeper understanding of musicality and developing dancing skills in a social context, all adding more complex sequences to our tango vocabulary. There will be 15 minutes of technique followed by dancing.

It is recommended that you do at least two months of Tango before joining the intermediate group.

Everyone is welcome and no partner is needed, as we will pair up and rotate partners in the class.
