What to Watch

Posted on:

Here's the last What to Watch blog of 2020. Hope you have enjoyed our lists - see you next year!

Dance on Screen

1. Theo Clinkard - Bent Wood
For this Surf the Wave commission, Theo spent a night dancing in the woods. The resulting film feels part nature documentary, part fairy tale with an occasional spooky vibe! Check it out:

Created in Quarantine

2. Numeridanse x Akram Khan Company - Our Animal Kingdom
The Animal Kingdom Project is an initiation between Numeridanse and Akram Khan Company. Inspired from the Akram Khan Company’s production Outwitting the Devil that centres the human connection to the natural world, this project was an opportunity for participants to evoke the wild things that they believe, live in all of us.

3. Marathon of Intimacies - Jo Fong and Anushiye Yarnell
This Surf the Wave commission features performers Jo Fong and Anushiye Yarnell testing their endurance and intimacy boundaries. Shot entirely from above, this deeply intriguing film feels very much like a therapy session.

In Case You Missed It

4. Ruth Anna Phillips - RIPPLES
Last week we launched our first Make Your OWN Dance Film creation. This joyous and uplifting film was inspired by larger dancing bodies and celebrates performers of all shapes and sizes.
