Alison Swann trained at Laban (now Trinity Laban) and is a Dance in Education Specialist with over 30 years experience. She is a director of Dance Educates Ltd., and works with learners and teachers using movement as a multi-sensory approach to learning. Alison has extensive teaching experience from pre-school to adult learners and has led professional development for teachers across London and the South-East. She has worked with education authorities, the University of Greenwich and Blackheath Conservatoire – the latter to develop a performing arts module to teacher training students. Alison was part of the team from The Place working with schools in Camden to create a live performance for the Arrivals Festival and the reopening of St Pancras International.
She was recently involved in two extensive research projects: with Surrey Arts and 10 primary schools looking at how dance and movement can impact on maths mastery, and with the Open University exploring how dance can support wellbeing. Alison has taught the adult contemporary class at Greenwich Dance since the start of the year.
