Professional Class is Coming Back!

Interior of the old library at Charlton House

We are thrilled to announce that Greenwich Dance is soon to be bringing professional class back to South East London!

Daily classes will begin on the 1st October and will be taught by an array of fabulous dance artists (many of which will be familiar to you)…. but there are a few tweaks to the way these will run so do read on…

Technique classes will run daily from Monday – Thursday (for Friday classes keep reading!) at the familiar time of 10.30 – 12.00 and will be in the beautiful Old Library here at our new home of Charlton House. It’s a couple of stops further than you are used to travelling, and a short walk from the station. Once here you will find us in a very beautiful manor house with lovely coffee and cake (important!) and pretty gardens (inspirational) and we promise it will be well worth the effort! In fact, there’s also great wifi in the café so you would be very welcome to bring a laptop and hang out in this green little pocket of South London for the rest of the day.

The Old Library has a wooden floor and is spacious, airy and rather grand. However, it has a much lower capacity than we enjoyed whilst at the Borough Hall and for this reason classes will be sold online, in advance and on a first-come-first-served basis (the last thing we want are disappointed dancers who have travelled to Charlton only to find we are sold out!).

We are also introducing an exciting new class to our professional programme which we hope you will love…

Every Friday we will be holding a drop-in outdoor fitness class designed specifically to build strength and cardio fitness for dancers. It will take place in the grounds of Charlton House, come rain or shine, and will be designed to help train dancers for site specific work and to tackle the increasingly varied demands from the industry.

Despite our recent loss of ACE subsidy we are still able to offer classes at the low rate of £5.50 each and the full programme will be going onsale on Tuesday 18th September.

We can’t wait to have dancers back here in Greenwich, filling our new home with creativity and movement.
See you in a few weeks!
