2. National Youth Dance Company - A Year Like No Other
When the UK went into lockdown in March, NYDC was halfway through the process of creating new work with Guest Artistic Director Russell Maliphant. With activity brought to a sudden halt and the company’s upcoming residency, world premiere and national tour all cancelled, NYDC had to radically rethink how its 39 young dancers would complete their experience. This new documentary by filmmaker Ben Williams charts the highs, the lows and everything in between, as told by the rising stars of a new generation of dance.

3. BBC Profile on Ballet Black
This short film which celebrates Ballet Black’s 2018 Glastonbury appearance with Stormzy was created back in July, long before dancer/choreographer Mthuthuzeli November was awarded an Olivier for his work Ingoma. We can’t wait to see what this innovative company will come up with next.
