Catch It While You Can

1. Gandini Juggling - SMASHED: Special Edition

Presented by the London International Mime Festival, this recording on Gandini Juggling’s tribute to the late Pina Bausch is available to view until 31 January. This version was only ever performed 3 times and was created under the mentoring eye of Tanztheatre Wuppertal’s Dominique Mercy. Enjoy!

2. Chalayan x AyaBambi and Ryan Heffington

This is a throwback to 2015 when Sadler’s Wells teamed up with AnOther Magazine to create a series of dance films inspired by fashion. Here, designer Hussein Chalayan dresses dancer AyaBambi in a film by Jacob Sutton, choreographed by Aya Sato & Ryan Heffington.

3. Mikiel Bruce - 1WRD: MISUNDERSTOOD

Creative Directors TAWBOX follow professional dancer Mikiel Bruce as he talks about navigating his autism through dance. This is a powerful film from Dazed, and if you only watch one film from this week’s list make it this one and you won’t be disappointed.

In Case You Missed It

4. Breakin' Convention - Les Twins BCTV Pro:Files

Identical twins Larry and Laurent Bourgeois are known throughout the world for their incredible dancing talent. This film, from 2015, takes a behind the scenes look at this eccentric duo’s relationship as they prepare to perform at Breakin’ Convention in 2015.

Created in Quarantine

5. San Francisco Ballet - A Little Beauty

The Sleeping Beauty’s garland dance is a rosy celebration, an effervescent kaleidoscope of optimism and grace. To recreate some of that magic in this challenging moment, 57 San Francisco Ballet Orchestra musicians recorded music with their phones, and 27 dancers from SF Ballet danced individual choreography in their homes, parks and streets.
