Here’s another brilliant list of dance films to watch this week.
Dance On Screen
1. Cameron Flynn - UNSKILLED
This film was created by New Adventures company member Cameron Flynn in response to the government’s insinuation that dancers are unskilled.
In Case You Missed It
2. New Adventures - Cinderella Duet
Speaking of New Adventures, Matthew Bourne’s company released this beautiful duet performed to an epic looking empty auditorium at Sadler’s Wells as a valentine’s treat. Enjoy!
Feature Length
3. American Ballet Theatre - Bubble: A Dancer's Perspective
This 11 minute documentary takes a behind the scenes look at the ABT company getting back into rehearsals from the point of view of the dancers themselves. It covers quarantining, taking direction through Zoom and getting back into the studio for the first time.
Created in Quarantine
4. Breakin' Convention - Next Day Delivery: Anthony Matsena and Kel Matsena
We’re loving this challenge dreamt up by the team at Breakin’ Convention. Each choreographer/musician team had 24 hours to respond to a piece of music they’ve never heard, a prop they didn’t know about and a lyric they’d never read. Here’s one of the responses, see the rest on BCTV.

5. Christopher Wheeldon - This Bitter Earth
This single continuous shot of Wheeldon’s beautiful choreography is performed by Sara Mearns and Adrian Danchig-Waring from New York City Ballet.
