Catch It While You Can

1. Joss Arnott Dance - Emergence 2021

Emergence are the post graduate dance students from the University of Salford, led by artistic director Joss Arnott. Their touring production, which kicks off next week at Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton, has a number of live and digitally streamed opportunities to see the company perform brand new works by Becky Naumgauds, Company Cameleon’s Kevin Edward Turner and Arnott himself. 2. New Movement Collective - NEST

NEST was a performance event commissioned by new arts organisation Stone Nest to mark the end of a period of inactivity for the Grade II listed Welsh Chapel on London’s Shaftesbury Avenue. New Movement Collective were commissioned to breath life into a hugely atmospheric space with a colourful and wide-ranging history.

3. Exit 12 - Moved by War

After two tours in Fallujah during the Iraq War, US Marine and Combat Veteran Roman Baca came home ravaged with depression, anxiety, and anger. With few places to turn, Roman went back to his first passion, ballet, as a way to cope — and discovered that through dance he was able to “reprogram” himself and begin to heal. This inspired Roman to start Exit 12 — a New York-based dance company led by Veterans and military families.

4. Breakin' Convention - Geometrie Variable

5. Pavilion Dance South West & Elisabeth Schilling - Invisible Dances

Artist Elisabeth Schilling narrates Roisin O’ Brien’s poem about the work she choreographed and created in the Bournemouth while in residency at Pavilion Dance South West.
