Family Story Walks Summer Term. A group of children and their adults watch enthralled as dance artist Maria tells them some of the park's history

Discover the secrets of Greenwich Park with our Family Story Walks. You and your clan will be guided by a dance artist who will explore themes from key historical figures and exciting moments from the park’s history. We meet at a new location in the park each week, learning about tales of some of its famous neighbours.

6 May – King James I.
13 May – John Flamsteed, the 1st Royal astronomer.
20 May – Queen Caroline.
27 May – Ignatius Sancho, former enslaved African, composer and 1st African to vote in the UK.
3 June – Olaudah Equiano, former enslaved African and writer.
10 June – Phillis Wheatley, former enslaved African and poet.

What to expect:

– Move and dance outdoors as a family.
– Explore themes of key historical figures.
– Listen and move to music.
– Create and play.

Attendance is free but places must be booked in advance.

We recommend this class for people aged 5+ and their adults. Individual adults without children are also welcome to attend. Please note that we do introduce some themes of Black history, slavery, the monarchy, sexuality and religion in some of the walks.
