Who's Who

Simple Cypher
Simple Cypher fuses Hip Hop and Circus to create new, uplifting experiences.
We are a company built through the foundations of hip hop and circus, founded in 2016 by Kieran Warner and Chris Thomas. Style, originality and unity are key fundamentals of hip hop culture and have had a profound influence on our development as artists and the work we create. Since forming, we’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with a host of hip hop and circus artists and presenting our work to audiences at festivals and venues across the UK and Europe.
We met training in hip hop dance at Swindon Dance’s Urban CAT scheme, then continued our training at the National Centre for Circus Arts where we both specialized in Cyr wheel. Joined by our passion for hip hop and circus it was a natural development to collaborate and create new work together. After winning the National Centre for Circus Arts Business Plan Award, Simple Cypher was born and we haven’t looked back.

Amir ‘Skate Tingz’ Bacchus-Marquis
I’m Amir Bacchus-Marquis but everyone calls me Amzy / Skate Tingz, I have been skating for 20 years and used my skating as a way to cope with hard times.
I live in North London and wanted to bring skating to my community so I quit my job at Haringey council in 2019 and decided to do nothing but skate.
Since leaving my job I have done nothing but skate, I teach in Finsbury Park, I work with companies that give skating workshops around London and I create skating content online.
I love my job and sharing the passion I have for skating.
