Who's Who
Colleen Joseph
Colleen Joseph started her journey in Dance close to 18 years ago after being awarded a scholarship to attend The Urdang Academy back in the early 2000’s. Since then, she has gone on to tour the world with her career and dedicated a large portion of that time to her teaching. As the Artistic Director of our youth dance company ‘Lotus Youth Dance’ Colleen has had the great fortune of being instrumental in the reshaping of our youth programme and continued to do so throughout lockdown.
As a Mix-Race artist myself, I am passionate about celebrating the rich culture Black Artists offer our creative industry and wanted to honour some of the artist who have inspired me in my journey. Given the past few years there was not better time to highlight their contributions then right now.
Mixing her love of Hip Hop and cross-art forms she has created an Arts Award that speaks to a rich and diverse British arts industry in a FUN and INCLUSIVE way.
I chose to join Lotus mostly for fitness reasons so that I could do a physical activity each week, but also so that I could improve my social skills so I can talk to more people. I’ve made a lot of friends here.
